Ards and North Down Mayor reopens Abbey View Care Home
The care home was saved from closure last year when MD Healthcare took the home over allowing residents to remain in the home and saved existing staff jobs. Since the takeover MD Healthcare have invested heavily in refurbishing the home to the same high standards as their other care homes throughout Northern Ireland, in addition to creating a number of local jobs at the home.
Ards and North Down Mayor, Karen Douglas attended the reopening and unveiled a plaque to commemorate the event commending the transformed home and wished MD Healthcare continued success for the future. The Mayor enjoyed a tour of the home meeting and speaking with residents and the staff of Abbey View.
Commenting on the reopening, Mr John Paul Watson, Group Managing Director commented, “We are delighted to have Ards and North Down Mayor, Karen Douglas reopen Abbey View Care Home after a period of renovation. MD Healthcare have invested significantly in the home and are pleased with the progress over the last few months and we thank the residents and staff for their support during this time. We look forward to a prosperous future serving our residents in Bangor.”
